A Pillar of a Find

Hello, Folks!

It was a beautiful day in the neighbourhood and decided to do some crafting outside.
I wanted to share my garage sale find! I always wanted a Roman style pillar in my possession and I found mine at a garage sale!
What you see is a completed spray painted pillar. I used Rust-oleum, Universal All-Surface (Satin Nickel – Metallic).
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a before picture but originally the pillar was in an ivory color, dirty and the paint was flaking off in chunks revealing the plaster underneath.
By itself the pillar was ugly but I saw the potential for greatness!
I decided a beautiful coat of paint would allow its beauty to shine thru. The old paint had to come off and my patient hubby helped with the sanding 🙂

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

It took two coats which almost used the whole can of spray paint. Once the warm sun-dried the fresh paint, I brought in my new pillar. What do you think? 🙂
Does it have a classy look? I even enjoy the bottom flaw which gives it authentic antiquity.

Thank you for visiting me today! I hope you’re enjoying your summer!

Basket Renewed!

Ugly Basket Needs a FaceLift!

Hello, Folks! How’s the summer treating you? I hope everyone is staying hydrated. Where I live in Northern Alberta has been hot, +28 – +32 degrees Celsius! Yikes! Too hot! I wanted to share my little idea to give a boring brown basket a FACELIFT! Originally, I was going to get rid of it but decided it can still be useful just a whole different look!

I used just regular paint you find at Wal-Mart. It took two coats. I could have painted the weave base a 3rd time as its dye was bleeding thru but decided I like the rustic look 🙂 The trim is unique orange that I created from adding a bit of white paint to the loud and bright orange that I had on hand. I hope I inspired you to also take something that you were going to get rid of and giving it new life! Please take care my friends! _Cute Fluff

Wooden Star Key Holders

Hello Friends,

Have you ever had items you’ve kept for years thinking one of these days it’ll be handy, well, wooden stars that were given to me by my mom years ago finally have become something other than being stored in a tote. Thanks mom for all those craft items 🙂

A bit of clay paint, nails, washers, wire and WALA! I have created a place to stow your keys at the entrance of your home. I had a lot of fun making these one-of -kind holders but moving on to other projects.

If you want to check out my tutorial how I made them, check it out here:

Mirror Old to New

Hello, Friends!

Let’s say you have a frame that is a bit outdated and you cringe just looking at it. I had such a frame but instead of throwing the item away like others would do, I decided to give it a make over.

If you want to see how to give an old frame a updated look then check out my tutorial here:
